In some instances, it may be necessary to run Tomcats "startup.bat" file as a different user. A common scenario in which the first error (Access is denied) occurs is when the initial Semarchy installation is done by a local Windows administrator. Later, a different user (lacking sufficient privileges) attempting to start the Semarchy application may encounter the error pictured above. Note the small, yet significant difference between the "Run as administrator" option, which won't work for this scenario, and our recommendation, which is "Run as different user", where we specify the local server admin account in servername\Administrator format. Running the batch file as the local Windows admin will resolve the errors, in this specific scenario. Select the startup.bat file in Windows File Explorer, hold the shift key + right-click to run as a different user.
